Chair Sashes of red, emerald green, gold and white tied in a bow, dawned 110 chairs in the MountainView Ballroom for the annual MountainView Lady Putters Holiday Luncheon held on Monday, December 11, 2023.

Tables were set with white tablecloths; red and emerald green napkins; centerpieces with black lanterns decorated with ornaments and ribbons set on a mirror base and gold lattice. Candlelit votive and silk poinsettias completed the elegant look. The stage was set up with a Christmas fireplace backdrop and display giving you that cozy living room feel. As the ladies arrived, they were welcomed by the sounds of holiday songs being played on the piano by JoAnn Wilbour, one of our putter members.

Ladies lined up to purchase their 25/25/50 Raffle tickets while others lined up to purchase the delightful specialty drink of chocolate liqueur, cream and a peppermint stick. The luncheon began at noon with President Patty Stark welcoming the ladies and thanking the servers and bartenders for a job well done. Marcia Munich was presented the Roadrunner award for Low Gross and the Hole in Wonder award. Patty Stark was surprised to receive the Lou Ann Garvin Tiger award for Low Net.

The food was then served with a selection of deliciously prepared beef stroganoff, pasta primavera with chicken, or vegan pomodoro. Followed by a sing-a-long of “Have a Holly Jolly Christmas”, “Joy to the World” and “Hanukkah, Hanukkah” led by Marilyn Ginther, Treasurer and Head of the Holiday Luncheon Committee. Randy and Linda Dighton and Susan Stewart, from the Catalina Chorale, here in SaddleBrooke, continued singing by honoring us with “Ma’oz Tsur”, “O Holy Night” and “Mary, Did You Know”.

The holiday committee team—Linda Martin, Cathie Siglow, Elizabeth Vaughn, Marilyn Ginther, Roxy Heacock, Carla DeWolf and Marilee Jones passed out a gift card and candy goody bag to each member. Names were then pulled for the giving of additional gifts. Jeannie Hepner won the special gift of an ornate Christmas gourd made by Donna Vargas. The afternoon was completed with the drawing for the 25/25/50 winnings which were won by Pat Brothers and Pat Morris. At 1:30 p.m., Patty Stark asked for a motion to adjourn the meeting. Looking forward to another fun event next year! GO PUTTERS!
