The new SaddleBrooke Women’s Golf Associations (SBWGA) Board has been sworn in, tournament schedules have been announced and the 18 holers are off to a quick start with a busy tournament line-up.

Upcoming—the first of our majors—will be the President’s Cup which will begin on Tuesday, February 6 to Thursday, February 22. (Followed, of course, by a celebratory party! This group knows how to have fun)! It began with a qualifying round in which 36 members competed. The first round had 32 competitors, which meant that four players were eliminated.

We have eight new members: Sue Dischner, Lynn Wenzel and Karen Thibodeau were at our first luncheon/meeting in 2024, and they were introduced by their Big Sisters: (Maggie Falconer, Kay Cruise and Nancy Sartor, in respective order). Additional new members are Claudia Booth (Big Sister: Deanna McCann); Mari Gomolla (Deb Fenton); Teresa Jenkins (Sally Drennen); Wendy Odell (Connie Culley) and Jennifer Waggoner (Marsha Camp).

We also had our first hole-in-one of 2024: Susan Sterling’s hole-in-one happened at SaddleBrooke in hole 2 on Friday, January 5, and a second hole-in-one was scored by Therese Holmes in SaddleBrooke at hole 6 on Tuesday, January 30. On our Ace of the Month Day, our Gross Ace was Helen Graham; our Net Ace was Patty Mawe.

Our sponsors for January are Susan Pennington, Mobile Massage Therapy; First Inspection Pest Control; G&K’s Entryways, Decorative Glass, Doors and More; Westerner Products Shades and Screens; Andy’s Irrigation: Turf Products, Irrigation, Outdoor Lighting. February: Beauty Inside and Out, DeDe Crowder; Long Realty, Helen Graham; Long Realty, Kathy Minx; Travel Shoppe, Peggy Bakos; Hardin Brothers; Longley Tax and Financial and Red Earth Tile.

We are so fortunate to have such supportive partners, and we show our appreciation by patronizing the businesses that sponsor our organization.
