A Sierra Vista man has been arrested on suspicion of burglary after police say he used Craigslist to try to sell stolen tools.

The case started Sept. 22, when a man told police several tools were stolen from his shed, said Cpl. Scott Borgstadt, a spokesman for the Sierra Vista Police Department.

The day after the theft, the man told police he had found some of his stolen tools listed for sale on the website. Police investigators bought some of the items and the burglary victim was able to identify them as his stolen tools.

On Friday a search warrant was served at the home of Kenneth Carl Beatty, 41. Police said they found more of the tools reported stolen, a gun and what they think is heroin, Borgstadt said in a news release.

Beatty was arrested on suspicion of burglary, trafficking in stolen property, and drug possession.
