It often takes quite a whole to complete a project, especially if it is a large or complicated one. But two of our most prolific needleworkers recently showed off their completed works of art. Melissa White just completed stitching one of her many needlepoint stockings. She has a lot of grands and great grands, so is constantly working on one for one of them. Shown here is a stocking for Hennesy complete with her other favorite stitching subject—cats which are sitting at Santa's feet. Lissa has been a member of the stitching group for several years and also serves as the treasurer.

Maureen Magilavy is pictured with her whimsical "Cats Fishing in a Rowboat" needlepoint which she made for her brother and framed it in a rustic frame adorned with real fishing lures. Maureen has been a SaddleBrooke resident since 2003 and joined the group in 2005. She was a member for five or six years then left to pursue other interests but has recently rejoined. Since completing the Cats fishing project she has started a companion piece, "Magnificent Seven" designed by Bryan Moore. It depicts seven cowboy dogs. It is actually a kit she retrieved from the stash of projects donated to the group.

SaddleBrooke Needlecraft and Fine Arts (otherwise known as Hand stitching and Needlework) meets every Monday and Saturday from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. All stitchers are invited to attend. Dues are $25 per meeting and monies raised are donated to charity once per year. For further information contact Judy Hans at (520) 818-3285.
