Health Night Out is excited to feature Dr. Karen Hendershott of Arizona Oncology at 7 p.m. in the DesertView Theatre on Monday, February 26.

Dr. Hendershott specializes in the surgical management of genetic, familial and triple-negative breast cancers. She has a special interest in invasive lobular cancer with additional training in oncoplastic techniques to maximize cosmetic outcomes.

As a breast cancer survivor, she emphasizes clear, compassionate communication and care coordination with shared decision-making. She brings an impressive combination of education and experience. She is a fellowship-trained breast surgical oncologist who completed a research fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center where she served as Chief Academic Fellow. Other background includes attending surgeon at Swedish Medical Center in Seattle, fellowship training in breast surgical oncology from Maimonides Medical Center and 15 years of specializing in the care of breast patients.

Dr. Hendershott can offer multidisciplinary visits where patients meet with the entire breast cancer team (medical and radiation) in one location and often, in one visit. This style of integrated care can decrease delays in treatment and optimize outcomes.
