What is anxiety? Anxiety is a mood disorder that involves excessive worrying, nervousness and fear. Depression is characterized by feelings of sadness, loss of interest and/or anger that interferes with our everyday life. Trauma can be both physical and psychological. In childhood and adulthood, we have experiences that can leave us feeling broken. We have difficulty trusting others, developing and maintaining quality relationships. We want to be in “control” and have difficulty asking for help. Often, we feel insecure and have low self-worth. Grief is a reaction to the loss of something important, the loss of someone or living things (pets), a job, relationships, our home, financial stability, our youth or even the loss of status in the community.
