The new bright pink “MountainView Lady Putters Welcome You” banner was hung above the Mesquite Grill patio entry. Fifty-four MountainView Lady Putters signed in on Monday, April 15, receiving their beautiful butterfly name tags provided by Fira Stout, ready for the arrival of the lady putters from Quail Creek (Green Valley area). “They’re here; they’re here,” were the shouts, as the bus pulled into the driveway and 48 Quail Creek Lady Putters stepped out. The MountainView Lady Putters lined up along the sidewalk with their putters forming a welcoming arch. Excitement was stirring as the ladies prepared to join each other in a full 18-hole putting game. Teams were in place and the action began. Cheering on one another, with the completion of a hole in one or an “almost” shot.

Following the puttering the ladies headed to the SaddleBrooke HOA-1 Clubhouse for roasted pork, wild rice and green beans meal topped off with a delicious crème brulee dessert. Stepping into the Vista dining room the “Butterfly” theme took you into feeling the beginning of spring. The tables were covered with spring colored satin overlays, butterfly shaped placemats in the center, butterfly paper napkin rings a flutter around the place settings, a large seven-foot butterfly backdrop in the front gave the room a grand presence and the sounds of JoAnn Wilbour’s uplifting tunes coming from the piano.

The average team scores were tallied, and the top three teams were awarded $20, $10 or $5. First place average team score of 42.6 – Kaye Caulkins, MVLP; Kathy Dorr, QC; Kim Bennett, MVLP; Roni Carrick, QC; Pat Reding, MVLP and Cindy Losk, QC. Second place average team score of 43.4 — Raye Cobb, MVLP; Dorothy Hofmann, QC; Gloria Olson, MVLP; Mary Heffner, QC and Betty Weller, MVLP and third place average team score of 43.6 – Marilyn Ginther, MVLP; Frannie Vanselow, QC; Karen Stott, MVLP; Kim Darrah, QC; Kim Halper, MVLP and Nancy Hatch, QC.

Numerous cash ($10 or $20) door prizes were awarded to the putters with the matching raffle ticket number.
