There were not any saddles—or any horses for that matter. But the MountainView Lady Putters (MVLP) and the Ranchette Putters of Saddlebrooke Ranch (RPSR) did their best to make the western theme “Saddle Up for Fun” come alive on Monday, April 28. Cowgirl hats, bandanas and boots were standard attire for this gathering, which was hosted by MVLP at the MountainView putting green.

Teams were organized to include members of both organizations. When the 18 holes of putting concluded, awards were presented at the luncheon which followed in MountainView Ballroom. First place putters were Pam Smith, Ginny Shockey, Roxy Heacock and Jean Kraus (MVLP) and Marilyn Heasley and Norma Tanner (RPSR). ) Second place went to Ruth Solin, Lori Bolme, and Dee Rock (MVLP) and Corine Sturdivant and Joann Pritchard (RPSR). Third place winners were Kris Rudin, Barbara Bloch and Loretta Edgerton (MVLP) and Jan Close and Joyce Cox (RPSR).

The award for most holes in one was presented to Roxy Heacock (MVLP) with three perfect shots. Money hole awards went to E. J. Snearly (MVLP) and Sherry Brinster (RPSR). Every participant was given a ticket for numerous raffle prizes. Ladies from both organization had a good time socializing during a baked potato and salad bar meal.

When MVLP President, Roxy Heacock asked our lunch group, “Are you having fun,” the group responded favorably. The MVLP planning committee members did not disappoint in their organization of this event. Committee member Jan Holland remarked, “The best part of working on the committee was the great ladies I got to know.” The whole group of these great ladies worked well together for a successful putting event.

Award winners for the month of April are Patti Paiz, Lou Ann Garvin Tiger Award for low net (31.1); Pat Wells, Roadrunner Aware for low gross (36.0) and Dottie Adams, Hole in Wonder Award for most holes (8).
