COSTUMES: October’s Halloween party and potluck brought fun, music, dancing and costumes! We all took a break from politics and stress to enjoy our club’s community of members.

CHRISTMAS/HOLIDAY PARTY: Our annual holiday party will be held on Friday, December 20 at the HOA-1 Activity Center. We will have wonderful potluck foods with GLAAS providing ham and chicken. Entertainment will be by SaddleBrooke’s own Red Hill Crossing, a five-piece band with materials by artists such as Alison Kraus, AJ Lee and more. They are a skillful blend of mandolin, bass and guitars complete with a great lead vocal and vocal harmonies!

CARING: Holiday Fund Drive for SAAF/Thornhill Lopez Center

NOW MORE THAN EVER!

For many years, Gays Lesbians and Allies of SaddleBrooke (GLAAS) have supported the Thornhill Lopez Center on 4th Avenue in Tucson that provides care and support for LGBTQ+ youth and its parent organization, the Southern Arizona AIDS Foundation (SAAF), an Arizona 501C charitable organization.

This year, we are asking our members to bring toilet paper, deodorant, toothpaste, soap, shampoo and conditioner and other similar personal care items to our Holiday Party. If you would like to donate money, "Sponsor a Family for the Holidays" is our giving back program for this year. Families provide a list of a few items they need and SAAF does the shopping. To sponsor a family, you simply use your phone camera and hold it on the QR code and a yellow box appears. Click on the yellow box, and it will bring you to the GLAAS/SAAF giving page to donate. A donation of $50 - $100 sponsors one to two people, $250 for a family of three to four, and $500 a household of four or more. Please be generous to those in need. You can also make a recurring donation by clicking on the monthly tab. Reach out to GLAAS if you have any questions. Send an email to glaasclub@gmail.com

The GLAAS Club meets monthly at the HOA-1 Activities Center, and welcomes all gender orientations and identities, races and political and religious beliefs. Slowly over the last ten or more years, we have built this caring community of members person by person, potluck by potluck and speaker by speaker. We are thankful for what we have, and let’s be hopeful that whatever happens, we will get through it with each other’s help and our great GLAAS community!
