Sunday, Feb. 26, 2017, about a dozen photographers from SaddleBrooke under the guidance of Barbara Wilder, left early morning for Old Town Tucson. The photographers were to capture the late 1800s façades and diverse architectural styles of this cultural and historical community that is now preserved by private individuals and families.
The assignment was to photograph doors, street scenes, diverse façade colors, staircases, flowerpots, front yards, triangular shapes and curves.
Besides photographing a wide variety of colorful focal points, the club members also received inside knowledge from friendly locals on the importance of keeping their downtown community unique with restoration and artistic personal touches.
Barrio Viejo is just south of the Tucson Convention Center in the area of South Main and W. 17th Street.
