Epic Rides sponsored the “24 Hours in the Old Pueblo” bike race in the Sonoran Desert on Saturday, February 15 to Sunday, February 16. This race has been held for 25 years and is one of the largest 24-hour team relay and solo rider mountain bike events in the world. Each lap of the course is 16 miles with an elevation of 780 feet. The race began at noon on Saturday, February 15 and finished at 12 p.m. on Sunday, February 16.

One of the requirements of participation in the “24 Hours in the Old Pueblo,” is that each racer is to bring a case of food for donation to the Tri-Community Food Bank (TFCB). The TCFB is thankful for the generous donations collected from the racers this year. A total of 252 milk crates of food was donated. The TCFB is also thankful for the volunteers from the SaddleBrooke Rotary who assisted food bank members load and unload the U-Haul truck and who helped sort the 252 milk crates for distribution to TCFB clients.

The Tri-Community Food Bank is an all-volunteer organization, spending zero funds on administration costs. The TCFB serves the communities of Oracle, San Manuel, Mammoth, Dudleyville and Aravaipa. It is located at 108 W. Redwood Drive, in Mammoth, and is open five days a week (Monday to Thursday and Saturday) from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The TCFB is an IRS 501(c) (3) non-profit corporation and an Arizona Qualifying Charitable Organization (20463).

To contact the TCFB or to volunteer, call (520) 487-2010 during business hours. The mailing address is P.O. Box 38, Mammoth, AZ 85618.
