It is time to think about the exciting holiday season events being planned by the SaddleBrooke Ballroom Dance Club (SBDC). Our holiday themed December Dance Party is scheduled for Thursday, December 14 in the MountainView Ballroom. The doors open at 5 p.m. and the festivities begin with an open bar and time to catch up with friends, both new and old. Our wonderful SaddleBrooke MountainView staff will begin serving our plated dinner at 5:30 p.m., and, by 7 p.m., we should be enjoying and dancing to the music supplied by our DJ for the night, fellow SBDC member Bill Rigg. This event was a true highlight last year and is sure to be one this year too. Get your reservations in early; this is one event you will not want to miss!
In December, Phil and Ann Doyle will be teaching the Samba, a vibrant and lively dance long associated with the world-famous Rio de Janeiro Carnival. Itβs lively and Latin so youβll be moving those hips to some energetic beats. Lessons for both beginners and intermediate dancers are ongoing for the month of December beginning on Sunday, December 3. Beginner classes are at 3 p.m. on Sundays and 5:30 p,m, on Tuesdays. Intermediate classes are held at 4 p.m. on Sundays and 6:30 p.m. on Tuesdays.
Novice Practice parties are planned for Friday, November 24 and Friday, December 22 in the HOA-1 Vermilion Room from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. These are for anyone with limited experience with ballroom dancing or maybe none whatsoever. Those of us who just wish to brush up on basic steps are also welcome. While it is not meant for seasoned dancers, our Wranglers will help with individual step instruction, or partner, if necessary.
In addition to practice parties, we also have Novice classes taught by our resident professionals, Dale and Ann Pizzitola. Currently, scheduled for Monday, November 20 is Foxtrot and Rumba, with the focus on Tango and Hustle on Monday, December 18. These classes are all scheduled for Monday from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Dates are always subject to change, so make sure to check if you are signed up for a class or party, and you will be notified of any date, time or venue change.
The SaddleBrooke Dance Club is a social club where we learn to ballroom dance and meet, make and mingle with friends both on and off the dance floor. Our club is fast growing; we now have over 200 members. We say, βthe more the merrier,β and would love to have you join us.
βThe SaddleBrooke Ballroom Dance Club is where the learning continues, and the fun never ends.β
