Although the club is called the Knit Wits, we have a group of very talented people who crochet. We’ve been searching for a name for them… the Crochet Feys? (a fey is fairylike creature). What about the Hooksters? Or the Merry Hookers? Other suggestions are welcomed.

While the Knit Wits is first and foremost a social club, some of our more accomplished members are willing to teach others how to perform new techniques or pass on tips gleaned from years of plying hooks and needles. Linda Hood gave a class on how to knit lace by following a chart. The understanding of this technique has made lace knitting much less daunting.

If you have basic skills in either of these crafts, you’re welcome to join us every Wednesday morning from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. in room 4 of the Arts and Crafts area in HOA-1.
