ABUNDANCE: a great or plentiful amount. That is the perfect summation of the Chanukah dinner on Tuesday, December 17. There was an abundance of fun, joy, entertainment and food. And most importantly, there was an abundance of gifts for hospitalized children in the Tucson area.
Over 100 members and non-members came together in the Vistas Restaurant for this early celebration. It was an evening to remember and a further indication of why this club is such an important part of the community. Special thanks to Sharon Hoff for once again organizing a lovely evening. To Carol Gordon for the invaluable email reminders, to everyone who came early to help decorate the room and to the Klezmerkaba Band for the musical entertainment
Join us on Thursday, December 19 for the Men's Dinner at the HOA-1 Vistas Restaurant. Another men’s dinner in the books. Another opportunity to exchange stories about… Honestly, I have no idea what men exchange stories about, but obviously they are interesting enough to make this monthly event a success.
We are deep into the season, and the fun continues.
Join us on Wednesday, January 8 for Ladies Coffee. The Coffee will be hosted by Sandy Rosen and Marsha Mantykow at Sandy's house. When Linda Kaprosy, our Ladies Coffee Coordinator, asks for someone to host the next Coffee, please be the one who says “Me." We can't do this without our members participating in hosting or sharing hosting duties with someone else. RSVP by email to Marsha at marnes1@comcast.net by Sunday, January 5.
Get ready for our January Trivia and Pizza Buffet on Thursday, January 16 at the Road Runner Grill in HOA-1. Once again, Marilyn Anthony has agreed to be our Trivia leader. Bring your appetite and thinking cap. Imagine, having to remember obscure acts without Google! Join us for the fun and an abundance (see what I did there?) of pizza. $23 per person, includes pizza and salad buffet, iced tea, lemonade, regular and decaf coffee and Assorted cookies for dessert. RSVP by email to Sharon Hoff at sharonhoff921@gmail.com by January 7.
The Men’s Dinner in February will be held on Thursday, February 20 at 5:30 p.m. in the Vistas Restaurant. Since there wasn’t a December dinner, due to the fun and exciting Trivia Night, I’m sure everyone is looking forward to this opportunity to get together. RSVP by email to Steve Rosen at steverosen58458@gmail.com by Monday, February 17.
Join us for our February Meet & Greet at 4 p.m., date to be determined. We encourage anyone interested in joining our family of friends to attend. Current members will be available to answer questions and welcome you. Yes, of course there will be food and drinks.
Our March Purim Party is still being decided. What's certain is an evening of silly fun! I, for one, can't wait to see this year's queen and king.
Our April Passover Seder. As always, we will be celebrating this holiday together. We are working on the final details.
It’s been noted, by people of note, that being part of a community is beneficial to our overall well-being. It’s also fun and the perfect opportunity to develop friendships, catch up with friends and create memories. If you're not a member, we hope you consider joining. Our goal is to continue growing our community. We are a social club, not affiliated with any religious organization. For additional information or questions about these events or the Jewish Friendship Group, reach out to either of our co-presidents via email: Sandy Rosen (sandyrosen458458@gmail.com) or Eileen Zelmanow (zelmoes@gmail.com).
