There’s just no way to keep our SaddleBrooke Women’s Golf Association (SBWGA) members from having a good time—whether it’s here in Tucson or some other corner of Arizona. Seven of SBWGA’s finest arrived a Pinetop Lakes Golf and Country club to participate in the annual LPGA Amateur match play tournament on Saturday, July 13.

The Tucson and Albuquerque LPGA Amature chapters competed for the prized Desert Dove trophy in the two-day tournament, and not only did everyone have a great time playing the beautiful course, but they also got a welcome reprieve from our 100+ temperatures as an added bonus!

The participating SBWGA members—Cathe Kropp, Joan Chyall, Melanie Basham, Ann Stonecipher, Donna Sehn, Barb Verbus and Suzanne Stone-Griffith, along with their teammates from other Tucson clubs, made up the Tucson Wonder Women roster, and they are all to be congratulated for their great fighting spirit!

Congratulations to our July Aces— gross winner Takeyo Eakin with 85, and Ruth Irving, coming in with a net 70. Great job, ladies!

No matter the season, we celebrate our loyal and generous sponsors and thank them for making our good times possible. August is the time to acknowledge AIM Mail Center, Andy’s Irrigation, Big Bear Garage Doors and G&K’s Entryways.
