Visions of sugarplums, or maybe a Barbie and Xbox, danced through their heads awaiting the appearance of Santa Claus. The MountainView Lady Putters were entertained with a revamping of the age old saga, with many SaddleBrooke nuances, at their annual holiday luncheon held in the MountainView Ballroom on Monday, December 9, 2024. Al Weigel as “Pa”, from the Community Circle Players, read the tale on set in a cozy living room setting with a fireplace for Santa to come down while “Ma” played by Liz Houser hung the stockings with care.

The skit included a sing along segment lead by members of the Catalina Chorale with Janie Grinstead at the piano, even dancing reindeer pranced across the stage, performed by the committee members, to “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer”, numerous presents and gift card prizes distributed by the team elves (Noel, Tinsel, Sugar, Spice and Everything Nice, Sparkle, Joy, Cookie and Sprinkles) and yes, an appearance of Santa down the chimney, played by one of our very own putters. A total of 118 attendees enjoyed a delicious meal of Honey Mustard Glazed Salmon, Rosemary Garlic Chicken or Stuffed Portabella Mushroom served on the elegant festive table setting with decedent desserts and a specialty chocolate martini with peppermint. A special feature was a Santa Workshop peek a boo photo booth. The afternoon ended with guests Lydia Camarillo and Deputy Chief Jeremy Hilderbrand from the Golder Ranch Fire District accepting the generous donation of teddy bears/stuffed animals brought by each of the ladies. Much appreciated! GO PUTTERS!
