The SaddleBrooke Men’s Golf Association (SMGA) recently hosted one of its major tournaments, the Presidents Cup. This year, 87 participants not only faced the strategic challenges of a three-day stroke play format but also had to contend with varying temperatures, ranging from 37°F to 78°F. The tournament was structured to balance the field, with eight flights of 10–11 participants, full handicaps, and daily payouts to the winners of each flight.

The final day is where champions are made. Every stroke counts as players compete for the coveted title, navigating SaddleBrooke’s most iconic holes under the pressure of competition. Despite the challenging conditions, the event remained a celebration of camaraderie, resilience and the love of the game.

As an added bonus, participants enjoyed lunch on the final day, generously provided by one of our Premier Signature sponsors, Blease Financial Services. Mark Stine, representing Blease, was on hand to help SMGA President Terry Edwards present the trophy to Joe Young, our tournament champion. Congratulations, Joe, on a job well done!

Mark has been with Blease for 10 years and has lived in Tucson for over 20. Longtime Tucson residents may remember him as a former news anchor for KOLD News 13 and Fox 11, where he worked from 2003 to 2014.
